Pratham Books is a not-for-profit children’s book publisher established in 2004. They have published over 300 original titles in 18 Indian languages and sell hundreds of thousands of books to schools, parents, educational organisations and the government. Pratham approached us to address their outdated and hard to navigate website. It was not responsive and failed to clearly segment and address their varied audiences which included institutional buyers, donors, content creators, parents, educators, their community and supporters of their StoryWeaver and Donte-a-book initiatives.
Our challenge was to broaden their reach and impact by creating a seamless experience for their users to understand, engage, donate, buy and participate. Our process included brainstorming user journeys, developing a robust site architecture, wireframing pages and then creating visual design options based on solid function and feature recommendations. We also ensured responsiveness across devices for every page design, intuitive interactions for all e-commerce functions, and some specialised functions such as selecting a title and then being able to order it in specific quantities for specific languages.
Six months after the launch of our site design, Pratham reported a 6x average increase in sales each month!
